Whether it's writing, talking, designing or standing in front of a camera; it's top notch stuff.

Gosport Borough FC

From September 2021, I have been Gosport Borough FC's head of media. In this time I have revamped the club's social strategy and image, bringing a cleaner and more consistent approach. This role has showcased my versatility and ability to produce content across various channels. My matchday roles have included running all the social channels, providing graphics, conducting interviews with manager Shaun Gale, writing match reports, co-commentary and even sometimes stadium announcer. You can visit the club website below to see examples of my articles, visit the club's social channels and see a slideshow of some of the graphics I have created.

Non-League Paper

On occasion I am required as Gosport's head of media to write a match report for the Non-League paper. This requires an interview with both managers and copy to be sent within an hour and a half of full time. Links to some of my pieces are below:

Gosport Borough vs Walton Casuals (08/01/22)

Gosport Borough vs Met Police (09/10/21)

United Services Portsmouth FC

First experience leading a football club's social channels during the team's FA Vase quarter and semi finals. Oversaw a rise in profile visits from under 4K to 170K and tweet impressions from 27.6K to 1.16M. Produced a live blog via Wordpress for the quarter final as a result of the social media boycott. Received over 600 visitors and 1750 views throughout the weekend. I also established a Youtube channel in order to publish some pre match interviews I did. You can visit the blog here, watch the pre-match interviews here and see some of the matchday graphics I created below.

Portsmouth FC

I have spent various matchdays shadowing the Portsmouth FC media team. This has given me the opportunity to publish content on the club's official Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok channels. I have also been involved in the establishment of the Official Pompey Podcast and will be involved more in the future. This experience has really developed my knowledge of what it takes to be a social media executive within a large brand/organisation with a large audience. You can see the podcast and a Tiktok I created below.

Express FM

Over the last three years I have been a frequent guest on the Express FM Football Hour. You can listen to one of my appearances below, which also featured two interviews I conducted whilst working with United Services Portsmouth FC.

TalkSPORT

Whilst at university, I spent around four months working as a news desk intern for TalkSport. I was mainly responsible for cutting clips of press conferences to be put into news bulletins over the course of the weekend. I also started to script news bulletins for the presenters and cut audio to fit other specs.

Mundial

In November 2018 I spent a week at Munidal on a work experience placement. When I wasn't chatting the lads' ears off about Pompey, I was able to publish an article about my beloved hometown on their site which you can read here.  During this time the Mundial content was being transferred to another site and it was my duty to make sure all of the articles fit the Mundial house style and to sub-edit them accordingly. I was also in charge of creating the seeding spreadsheet for the future release of one of their print issues.

The News

I spent a week at The Portsmouth News whilst at college for my first experience in journalism. I spent most of my time writing and subediting articles for both online and print publication, interviewing various people and curating old content for re-publication. The rest of the time I was making cups of tea...

In November 2021 I wrote a scouting report on Portsmouth FC's next opponent Harrow Borough FC for The News. You can read the article here.

Voice of London

During third year of university, I was part of the sports team for 'The Voice of London'. You can find the articles I wrote for this here. I was the sports social editor and established a Twitter account @VofLSport. All tweets from this account in 2018 are my work. You can see a video I created for one of my articles surround football shirts' place in fashion below.

Also during university I was able to anchor a sports news bulletin for a mock news day. As sports editor, the video seen below was also scripted, produced and edited by myself.

Pompey Insider

Pompey Insider is a blog that I created whilst still at college to document my first venture into writing. Though the content is now very old, I believe that it is good evidence of my natural ability to write on-the-whistle match reports, opinion pieces and news-style pieces. You can visit the blog here and see it below.
